Troop 27 was established in 2003. We have grown in leadership both with scouts and adults, committee organization, and family participation. Troop membership begins in the last half of 5th grade (after your pack's Blue & Gold) and continues until the scout turns 18. We currently have approximately 80 scouts. In order to join the Boy Scouts of America, the boy must: be between 11-18 years old; or have completed the 5th grade; or has earned his Arrow of Light in Cub Scouts at a minimum of age of 10.
Troop 27 was founded with one prinicipal: It is all about the boys. Troop 27 is a place where the boys will experience exciting challenges as well as recognition for his accomplishments both in and out of scouting. He will learn skills that will stay with him for years to come, gain friendships, but most importantly, he will feel that he is part of a troop that needs him no matter what his age or rank and realize that he is a vital part of Troop 27's continued success.
Troop 27 is an active Troop with campouts every month and many community service opportunities. Family is the most important piece in a young man's life and with help from the family, we can guide your son to achieve the goals that he wants that will stay with him forever in Scouting. Families of Troop 27 are more that just moms and dads; they are people who have a great deal of interest in the success of not only their son, but that of every Scout in our Troop!
